The Sacrifice of Isaac by Marc Chagall.
The story of God commanding Abraham to sacrifice his only son Isaac (Genesis 22:1-14) has baffled Bible students and scholars probably since it was recorded. It’s a terrible story, but an important one. Here’s my take on what the story means, why God asked Abraham to do such a barbaric thing, and how it foreshadows what God ultimately did in Christ. Chuck…..your sermon gives a terrific insight on this story of Abraham and the sacrifice of his son. I’ve never heard such a clear and precise explanation. I enjoyed listening very much.
