My symptoms of loss of sensation and use are progressing. My doctors are transferring me to Duke University Medical Center to neuro muscular specialists. More later when we know more. Thanks for your prayers.

- Everything Is Made NewIn 2 Corinthians 5:6-17, the Apostle Paul encourages the church in Corinth to live a life pleasing to Christ because one day all will stand before the judgment seat of Christ. On that day, each of us will have to give account of how we lived our lives. How we live does matter, and Paul affirms that fact to the troubled church in Corinth.
- Life in the SpiritTrinity Sunday offers an opportunity to examine Paul's idea of life in the Spirit. According to Romans 8:12-17, living in the Spirit means that we don't live by the "flesh" -- which is a word Paul uses to identify that which is dying and passing away, that lifestyle to which we were slaves prior to coming to Christ. Life in the Spirit mea […]
- Living in the Power of PentecostPentecost Sunday is the last big Sunday in the liturgical year, but often churches that celebrate Advent, Christmas, Epiphany, Lent and Easter fail to give equal emphasis to Pentecost. Pentecost is the culmination of the Christian Year, and has been called the "birthday of the church." Without Pentecost, the Christian Year is incomplete because it […]
- A Mother's SacrificeThe Bible features several accounts of mothers, but my favorite Old Testament story about mothers is the story of Hannah and Samuel. Found in 1 Samuel 1, Hannah's story recounts her wilingness to give her son, Samuel, back to the Lord. Samuel, in turn, heard the voice of God calling him. As a result Samuel became the spiritual leader of Israel, speaking […]
- Worshipping and DoubtingIn Matthew 28:16-20, we usually miss verse 17: "They worshipped him, but some doubted." What did the 11 disciples doubt during this post-resurrection appearance of Jesus? Did they doubt that he had been resurrected? Or that he was the Messiah, the Son of God? Or did they doubt themselves and their ability to carry on after Jesus left them? The inte […]

March 15, 2013
Tell Debbie that we are only 12-15 minutes from Duke Hospital and we have a guest house that is available to her. Hang in there. God loves all of us.
God bless you both, I guess that’s why they call it practicing medicine, but why do they have to practice on you!
Praying for you. Hopefully the Doctors at Duke will be able to get to bottom of this and come up with a diagnosis quickly.
Still praying…let us know if you need anything!
Dwight & Susan – thank you for being there for Chuck & Debbie! And to Chuck & Debbie – our thoughts and prayers are with you continually. Waiting with you for a diagnosis and a cure! All our love, Jeff and Sherry
Praying for you, Chuck.
Praying for you and Debbie and for the medical team. Our love, Steve and Pam
Dear Chuck
Jerry and I are just reading about all of this and want to stay in close touch. When will you be going to duke. We were going to come see you tomorrow. You have always had an impact on our lives. You live and preach his word. My cell is 336-202-5750 if anyone can call. We love you and are praying for you.
Hey Chuck. Gain your strength from all the good thoughts and words you have encouraged others with. And encourage yourself like you have encouraged others Many prayers and “GOOD THOUGHTS” for you and Debbie. Love
Still praying for you from SoCal……I know God has you and Debbie in the palm of His hand. Peace to you both and prayers for the team to find answers needed.
Chuck,
Jerry and I are praying for you. We feel very out of the loop. If Debbie or you wants a visit let us know. Don’t know if you are up to it but we would love to see you. We love you and are eating for you.

Sweeties, Jim and I just got the latest on you. You both are in our thoughts and prayers and we know the Master Designer has the plan. Meanwhile, I give you Phil. 4:6 & 7 which has pulled me through countless issues and health scares. Someday we must share medical equipment stories, including crutches, cane, walker, wheelchair, rods in back, 2 brand new knees, not to exclude potty-shower chairs! Rest in His Arms!!!!!
I don’t think it is a coincidence that I signed up for your e-mail posts quite some time ago and then they stopped for well over a year (coming to me, at least) until sometime last month, when they resumed again. As we’ve learned, Satan doesn’t generally waste his time on the weak and foolish; he already has them. He goes after those who are making a difference. I’ve been told from at least a half dozen different (as far as I know unrelated) sources (only one attends my church) that there will be a major revival in my city this year. I am not only participating in that, but God willing will be helping to lead the charge. I receive my inspiration solely from God; but He uses a variety of sources – including a small church pastor 1748 kilometres (1100 miles) away. Your words have an impact. And as we hear from you more often, and you begin to have that impact again (out of sight-out of mind), Satan is miffed. So be strong. Know that what you are doing is from God and that you are under attack by the evil one. Christ’s work on earth is not done… and neither is yours.
Blessings and prayer,

Chuck, Buddy and I are very concerned. Would you please ask your doctors if Lyme Disease is a possibility. Many people are bitten by ticks without knowing it because they are so small.
