The Possibility of Cancer

The doctors now suspect that my symptoms of pain, loss of feeling in my hands and feet, and difficulty walking may all be caused by some type of cancer. Today I am having a neck CT scan with contrast dye. While I’m in the CT scan, the doctor will biopsy some of my lymph nodes.

So far I’ve had 3 MRIs of head, neck, and lower back; 2 CT scans of chest and heart; 2 chest x-rays; a spinal tap; and, lots of blood work. Physical therapy will start working with me today as I continue to lose the ability to walk. I appreciate your continued prayers.

  8. Praying for you and for your doctos. There is noting worse than knowing that there are things going in in your body but then all the testing they put you though come back with no results. I pray that the awnser comes along soon so that you will know what you face and that you will have peace of mind in knowing. The Warnock family has alway been such a blessing to me since those days of the ice cream cone hanging on the den wall and our mightly God will walk with you in whatever battles you face and you must know that you are love have have so many prayer warriors and followers wherever you go.

  9. So sorry that you are going through all this. I will be praying and ask that the Chatham Presbyterian Church congregation also offer prayers for your recovery.

  10. Debbie we had some similar thing happen to my husband, he one day just couldn’t walk and ended up in the hospital, he had taken the flu shot earlier in the week and came down with (Guilen Buree, this is not the correct spelling, )but it is a side effect from taking theHiNi flu shot, one in 10,000 will get this. I was reading his symptoms, and they sound alot like my husband, He was not able to walk either and was in the hospital for about 2 months. He was treated for this and is mostly back to himself. I just wanted to tell you this in case it may be this disease. I am not a doctor but we had not heard about it. Once they found out what it was and treated him he began to improve, With much prayer and medicine I am glad to have him better.Debbie

I do hope after all these tests they will be able to diagnose and treat your condition. Please know that all of us who know you are lifting you up in prayers. God is with you always and will sustain you through this journey. Stay strong! I am so relieved that you are at Cone. I feel if anyone can help, they can.

  14. Many Blessings to you and your family! May the Lord give you special strength and understanding as you undergo these tests and therapy and recovery! I believe I met you and your wife as you came to Va to attend the funeral and home going of Donnie Bower’s dad, Orville Bower. You are in my prayers! Wanda

  15. I’ll pray for you as soon as I send this response to you. Would you object to my putting you name in the prayer list for the congregation I serve. They are praying people because they believe in prayer.

  16. Chuck, You and Debbie have been in our thoughts and prayers since we learned of your illness. You both were so wonderful to Mother and Dad. Kate and I will be forever grateful. Susan Todd Pearson

  17. Praying for you and your family, as well as, for all the medical staff working for you. I am sure they have considered this but here is some information on Guillain-Barre syndrome. http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/gbs/detail_gbs.htm I see they did a spinal tap so increased protein in this might be indicative of this syndrome. Lots of prayers and love from across the pond! C. Culver

  18. Chuck, please know you, Debbie and family are in my thoughts and prayers as the doctors find out what is going on. More importantly, the Great Physician is already taking care of you!

  19. I’m so sorry to hear what you’re going through, it must be very scary. it’s at times like this when you realize how much we all take our health for granted. Although I am not a member of your church, I still consider you a friend. This must be a very difficult time for both you and Debbie, if you need anything please contact me. Be strong and get better my friend. Cheers – Phil

  20. If you’ve ever been on the receiving end of Chuck and Debbie’s compassion (many of us have) you’ve probably heard these words….”We’re going to get you through this”

So, now, I’m sure the entire church is united in echoing these thoughts of encouragement, hope and love to you:

WE’RE GOING TO GET YOU THROUGH THIS!

  21. Dear Chuck and Debbie,
You are in our prayers! May God grant you comfort, rest, and healing! We are also praying for wisdom for the doctors as they diagnose and create a treatment plan. Wayne and Angie said they were blessed to see you today! Thank you for your meaningful friendship with our family!
Blessings and prayers, Lisa and Hayden
